Chapter Three

Salt took some ribbing from Rocky, who hadn’t been as oblivious to him and Andy flirting as she’d seemed. Of course the other ranch hands picked up on it and by the time Salt was on his way to the Super 8, even Carlos, Troy and Will had teased him.

He didn’t mind—he liked the camaraderie at the Mossy G. Besides, he was squeaky clean inside and out. Andy was waiting on him, and he was going to have a damned good time, barring Andy just being a shitty lover. Salt didn’t think that’d be the case. Andy was too confident to be bad in bed.

The drive to Ashville seemed to take twice as long, and by the time Salt pulled up in front of room 113, his dick was already half-hard from all the things he’d imagined him and Andy doing. He parked the truck and shut it off. Salt did a quick check of himself in the rearview, then he tugged his hat down just a hair in front.

Salt didn’t lie to himself about his appearance. He was forty-five and had spent more time outside than inside. The sun had darkened his face, left deep proof of his lack of sunscreen use etched into it. His black hair was going to be more white than not soon.

But he was still trim, tall and lean with tightly honed muscles. Granted, parts of him were so white they might blind a person, but none of him was bad to look at. Though he wouldn’t win any beauty contests, either.

Salt unbuckled and got out of the truck. He shut the door then strode over to Andy’s room. Before he got to it, Andy was standing in the doorway wearing obscenely low-hanging sweats that showed off an inch or two of his pubes above the waistband. He didn’t have a shirt on, so his tanned torso was on display. Andy had broad shoulders and a nice amount of brown chest hair. He didn’t have a chiselled six-pack, but he wasn’t overweight, either. He was solid, and damn, he looked good.

“Come on in, cowboy,” Andy rumbled as he stepped back. Salt could see that his cock was already beginning to rise, and there was no mistaking it for anything other than huge. It made Salt clench his ass in anticipation of feeling it spreading him open.

Salt didn’t get more than clear of the door than Andy slammed it shut. Andy grabbed him by the shoulders, and Salt thought it was going to be hard and fast, Andy overpowering him or trying to—but no. Andy held him still and just stared at him, maybe studying his features, though for what, Salt didn’t know.

It should have made him nervous, being inspected like a bull up for auction, but it didn’t. There was a warmth in Andy’s expression that made it clear he was enjoying the view. That, and Andy kneaded Salt’s shoulders instead of just keeping his hands still.

Andy flicked his glance down to Salt’s lips.
